It's morning. Finally.

Corrine can see the light coming in through the blinds of her living room, and she yawns. She's been up all night, listening for sounds from her bedroom. At one point, she'd gotten rather involved in an infomercial about making money at home. If she were gullible, it would've sounded like a good idea.

Despite the boredom, she'd avoided checking her bank account online all night. She was afraid of the inevitable-- she was broke.

She knew there was an excuse for her. Things with the JSA had been a non-stop action ride, and not that she wasn't happy about a little excitement in her life, but it had all been a little too much. A trip back to normalcy was called for.

Corrine set her tea down on the table, walking towards her bedroom. Inside, she'd set Caleb up in her bed to sleep. She'd checked on him several times in the night, but he seemed to be sleeping soundly. Hours ago she'd abandoned the self-delusion that she was only doing it out of care for a friend.

She pushed the door open, unable to resist the urge to see his sleeping form again.

*The epiphany only now hits Caleb; This woman has feelings for him.*

I, uh, … I’ve never been fond of losing. *Caleb smiles at Corrine.*

Corrine, you have a lot of potential. You seemed to enjoy your time with the JSA, and it would be a true shame if you walked away from there because of what happened yesterday…

*Caleb pauses for a moment as he coughs, then takes another moment to clear his throat.*

I would be more than happy to train you, so to speak. To teach you how to use your powers on the battlefield without getting yourself killed .. or anyone else, if you can avoid it.

If your interested, though, I do have one condition..

Wow. Thank you. *She grimaces.* And I'd think you _wouldn't_ want to train me after yesterday.

*She looks wary at his last words.* Condition?

I just hope that yesterday underscored the importance of preparation, and struck home just how dangerous the profession can be.

The condition? 2 Extra strength aspirin and a glass of water. My head is killing me….

*Corrine laughs and nods.* Oh, right. *She inwardly sighs. For a moment there, his face seemed to be giving something away, and she had been slightly afraid of how _that_ would've gone. She stands from the chair and heads off to the kitchen.*
